Product Design & Management at Matsuda
As the sole product manager for Matsuda’s three global companies (Asia, Europe, and the Americas), I oversaw the entire product development lifecycle for the brand’s eyewear collections—bridging creative design with operational execution.
The Process
Trend Research & Ideation: Analyzed global fashion trends and consumer insights to inform new designs while staying true to Matsuda’s DNA.
Design & Technical Development: Created mood boards, concept sketches, and tech packs (spec sheets), and collaborated on technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator.
Sampling & Production: Selected colorways, ordered and tracked prototypes, and managed sample cycles to ensure quality and timeliness.
Product Launch: Coordinated production schedules, built and organized global display kits for sales teams, and delivered finished luxury products worldwide.
Systems & Tools
Designed and maintained large Airtable databases tracking SKUs, color codes, materials, measurements, pricing, and margins.
Built a margin calculator in Excel and Airtable to streamline wholesale and retail pricing.
Managed integration across Shopify, ERP tools, and international regulatory systems.
Developed a custom XML script to bulk-upload products into the European Medical Devices (EUDAMED) database, saving hundreds of hours per release.
Outcome
By combining creative direction and technical precision with custom-built tools and data-driven systems, I enabled Matsuda to efficiently release globally compliant, meticulously crafted eyewear collections that balanced artistry with operational excellence.
