Role: Chief Product Officer, Creative Director, Lead Designer, Lead Photographer
The Challenge
J. Goldin was a new luxury eyewear brand with no existing product line or supply chain. The task was to design an entire inaugural collection from scratch, ensuring it reflected the vision of a modern luxury brand while achieving small-batch production standards in Italy.
The Process
Concept Development: Created mood boards, color palettes, and design inspiration that aligned with the brand’s mission and aesthetic. Created initial design sketches identifying shapes, silhouettes, and patterns coming from an informed dive into current fashion trends.
Technical Design: Produced detailed tech packs/spec sheets, including measurements, material specs, construction notes and colorways. Created to-scale technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator and 3D CAD models in Rhino.
Prototyping: Selected colorways, sourced materials, and oversaw prototype development with Italian manufacturers.
Supply Chain: Researched and established production partners capable of small-batch luxury runs, and managed sample review cycles through to final approval.
Final Delivery: Directed the process through to production-ready frames, ensuring each piece balanced innovation, craftsmanship, and luxury positioning.
Outcome
The inaugural collection was solo designed by me, setting the design DNA for J. Goldin. It established the brand as a serious contender in the luxury eyewear space, defined by bold silhouettes, refined details, and artisanal small-batch quality.
